“This workshop was a unique chance to heal through deep self-inquiry and open
my writing channel in a safe environment. I was touched by Mark’s absolute presence
and deep care for all and each of the participants. Totally recommended!”

Writing is an unparalleled tool for deepening insight, releasing grief, building resilience, and improving overall well-being in the best of times. In crisis, it becomes a necessity. Scientific studies show that when we express our thoughts and feelings in writing, we strengthen our immunity, lower stress levels, and accelerate physical and psychological healing.
In this eight-week live video class, Mark will guide you through lessons of courage, creativity, authenticity, resilience, meaning, spiritual presence, and hope. You’ll explore the fears, challenges, and questions that confront many of us during this pandemic. How do we cope on a daily basis with our changed reality? What can we learn through this crisis that can help improve our lives in the future? How can we use this sequestered time creatively?
For the past 30 years, Mark has been writing and teaching about strategies for resilience, self-reinvention, creative growth, and spiritual awakening. The topics in this class are drawn from his 2008 book, When You’re Falling, Dive: Lessons in the Art of Living, a study of survivors, artists, and sages who’ve thrived in adversity.
Writing is a precious gift when we need grounding, clarity, and strength. Let this weekly gathering be a refuge in the storm, a place to connect with yourself and others in this time of uncertainty and opportunity.

HOW THE CLASS WORKS
The class will meet on the easy-to-use Zoom platform which is accessible from your computer, smart phone or tablet. Dial in options are also available for those who don’t want to use video. The Zoom access details needed to join the meeting will be sent the day before each session.
Each session will consist of a weekly lesson, followed by guided writing exercises, and ending with a group discussion. Sessions are no more than 90 minutes in length. You are not required to participate. Anonymity is respected. Each session will be recorded and emailed to registered participants.
For those that register for the complete series, there will be a Google Group for the posting of writing you want to share with the class. Using Google Groups allows the class to read, comment and support each other’s work in a positive and nurturing environment. We will contact you a few days before the first class for setup in the Group.

“The two courses I’ve taken with Mark are among the most profound experiences I ever had. Mark’s strong leadership and sensitivity provide a safe environment for one to write and share life stories. His intuitive questions and personal feedback helped me reveal an inner sense of wholeness and well-being. I am deeply grateful for this gift.”
